Modern roundabouts are an alternative form of intersection control that is becoming more widely accepted in the United States. In the appropriate circumstances, significant benefits can be realized by converting stop-controlled and signalized intersections into modern roundabouts. These benefits include improved safety, speed reduction, aesthetics, and operational functionality and capacity.
