When approaching the rebuilding of D'Iberville, Jaime Correa was informed that the two most important aspects to the rebirth of D'Iberville were the Wal-mart at the intersections of the two highways (which upon the destruction of 75% of the housing stock, has been producing 90% of the towns tax revenue), and the "corridor of opportunity", a reference two the new highway directing traffic from Jackson to Biloxi through D'Iberville, in order to bypass Gulfport and save 40 minutes on travel time.

As part of the "corridor", the plan focuses on waterfront casino development, the "new" French Quarter, and the individual neighborhood community centers. For the casino development there has been talk of breaking down the structures by typology, one casino tower, one hotel tower, one structure for pool and cabana. this would eliminate any introverted megastructure and replace it with something composed as a city. The new French Quarter will be New Orleans mixed with Miami Beach, as well as raised 4 feet higher than they currently are, out of the floodplain.

The University of Miami, and The University of Notre Dame have analyzed preliminary plans, and produced drawings by Phillip Bess's studio as Notre Dame. NYU has also worked on the economic impact of the "corridor" and concluded that it will spur new street retail and increased visibility for the town of D'Iberville. The City has trained and is ready for SmartCode.

On June 10th-14th there was a follow-up charrette, followed up by a mini SmartCode charrette from the 14th-17th.
