Myths

• Misconceptions that New Urbanist developments are exclusive gated communities are often furthered by incorrect advertising. Often communities claim they are examples of New Urbanism when they are not. AlphaVille Urbanismo in South America claims they have some of the best examples of New Urbanism in Latin America. These developments are not good examples of New Urbanism, they are removed from the city center and have large tracts of vacant land between the development and the urban core.
